Farm to Film Fest 2024

Picture
Welcome to Washington’s 2nd Annual International Film Festival to help us celebrate the arts through engaging films to spark new conversations. We are building on the successes of the 1st Annual Farm to Film Fest to broaden the horizons and expand the arts through inspiring films that hopefully bring forth well-meaning conversations.

We are excited again this year to have several filmmakers lead the opening sessions on Saturday and Sunday mornings in the State Theatre, formerly known as the Graham Opera House, a cinema where films began in 1893.

We encourage you to use this Film Directory Booklet to review the film descriptions and select films of interest ahead of time so that you have the opportunity to screen as many films over the two-day event as you can.

We especially thank our sponsors and donors for their support to make the film festival possible, and for the State Theatre for hosting our opening sessions.

Remember, everyone is invited to the Filmmaker’s Reception, 7:00 pm Saturday, April 20, 2024, in the Washington Public Library.

Lyle Moen
President, Farm to Film Fest
Welcome to Iowa.

We’re glad you’re here. And we hope you’ll have fun this weekend in downtown Washington — a city with a lot of history. In fact, Washington is older than our state!

If you’re a filmmaker, be sure to scout out the area during breaks. You’ll discover our open spaces inspire creativity. Southeast Iowa offers scenic landscapes and small villages lost in time for those period pieces on your list. No need for much propping — just lights, camera, and action.

Produce Iowa is ready to connect you to opportunities. We invite you to review our online Production Directory for crew and support services for your next project, as well as our Location Database to find that perfect spot to film.

And if you live in Iowa and want to become involved with productions, please create your own free directory listing. Just be sure to keep it updated throughout the year.

Our state is ready for your story. Let us connect you to an authentic experience with beautiful locations in Iowa.

Farm to Film Fest 2023

Very well-run. Hard to tell it was the first year of their festival. As a filmmaker, I really enjoyed the dinner and panel on Saturday night as a way to get to know and hear from other filmmakers. I had never been to downtown Washington, IA, and it was a pleasant place to spend time, especially this time of year. Communication and hospitality from organizers was great. I would submit/attend again. - 2023 Filmmaker, Courtney Ball
