A Land Made from Water (0:27:00)
Directed by Len Aitken, (USA), Documentary Short
Local writer George Sibley collaborated with Boulder videographer Len Aitken to bring to the screen a story of how humans moving water around can transform a dry landscape to a diverse and inviting set of wetter ecosystems. Their video is based on a book, A Land Made From Water, about human interactions with water on Boulder Creek on Colorado’s East Slope, by hydrologist and writer Robert Crifasi, who also appears in the video. Sibley wrote the script for the video – shot mostly in the Boulder Valley, but with a message for every Westerner who takes for granted the “natural” beauty as well as the utility of the irrigated valleys of the West.
